We manufacture Philips head screws in SS304, SS202, and SS316 grade or as per customers requirement. Self Tapping screws are used in wood metal or plastic. Self Tappers are used where there is access to only one side of the material being used, i.e. laying a deck or lining a wall. There are two basic types of self tappers, thread forming and thread cutting. Self tapping screws are specially designed screws which produce their own mating thread into the material used as they are being applied into a pre-drilled or punched or molded holes. Mainly used in thin sheet material they can also be used in some soft plastics and Aluminium. Main advantages are easier and quicker assembly (no holes to tap as with machine screws) good resistance to vibration due to closeness of thread engagement and access is only required from one side.
